As the demand for qualified RN’s is on the rise, SIH has identified the need to develop a flexible scheduling program to recruit and retain nurses. The need to reduce agency usage is a vital part of the SIH Strategic Plan. The SIH RN Flex Pool has been designed to offer an opportunity for nurses to select a unit(s) and a schedule that meets not only their career goals, but also considers their personal life.

Qualifications:
- RN with one-three years
experience in select areas
- Have a valid RN Illinois License
- Two letters of reference
- Complete employee application form or transfer request
- Complete the applicant survey
- Interview with SIH nurse manager
- Successfully complete peer
- Interview
- Complete competencies required for the position
Program Guidelines:
- Select a unit or units and choice of hours to work
- Complete orientation
- Eligible for select SIH benefits based on hours worked
- Float to all SIH facilities as
required
- Flexible schedules with
weekends/holidays as applicable

Paid incentive to pick up “xtra” shifts after they have worked 40 scheduled hrs in the week.
Must meet clinical competencies of the units they work.
